In DAB mode the BCR40DABT receives the time and date as part of the stream and continuously updates the time & date accordingly.
In FM mode the BCR40DABT also receives the time and date as part of the stream and continuously updates the time & date accordingly, however not every station broadcasts the RDS. Radio Data System (RDS) is a communications protocol standard for embedding small amounts of digital information in conventional FM radio broadcasts. RDS information transmitted, including time, station identification and programme information. For stations that dont broadcast the RDS there can be issues with the time and date displayed on the BCR40DABT.
In such cases we advise users to switch to a manual clock setting via the MENU of the BCR40DABT.
As a first step in the MENU it is important to set the time "auto update" setting to "No update" when setting the date and time manually.
This will make sure that the time is not updated automatically when you have set your clock manually. The only disadvantage to this is that the clock will not automatically update during the start/end of daylight saving time as it will not update from the RDS. The time will have to be adjusted by the user each time daylight saving comes around.
Setting the time to manual mode is found on page 13 and 14 of your user guide.
